Careers at Davidson Center
We are always accepting applications from talented educators and support professionals who want to make a real difference in students’ lives.
Davidson Center is a non-public accredited school and tutoring center serving Pre-K through college-aged students in the Lake Norman region. Our team includes tutors, teachers, reading and learning specialists, executive function coaches, and college planning professionals who share a commitment to personalized, student-centered instruction. Whether you have deep classroom experience, a passion for one-to-one teaching, or expertise in test prep and academic coaching, there may be a place for you here.

What It’s Like to Work Here
Our educators value the opportunity to work with students in a focused, one-to-one or small-group setting where they can truly individualize instruction. We serve students from a wide range of schools—public, private, virtual, and homeschool—and design plans that build confidence, skills, and independence. As a locally owned center, we foster a collaborative, supportive environment where instructors are trusted as professionals and encouraged to bring evidence-based practices, creativity, and warmth to every session.
Who We’re Looking For
We are always looking for reflective, reliable educators who:
- Have strong content knowledge in areas such as reading, writing, math, science, world languages, executive functioning, or test prep.
- Care deeply about building relationships with students and families and helping learners see themselves as capable and successful.
- Are comfortable adapting instruction for neurodiverse students, including those with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, anxiety, or other learning differences (experience is a plus but not required for all roles).
- Communicate clearly, respond professionally, and are willing to collaborate with colleagues and school teams when needed.
We welcome experienced classroom teachers, learning specialists, and professionals with strong academic backgrounds who are interested in part-time tutoring.

Flexibility and Schedule
Because our students come from many different schools and districts, much of our instruction happens after school, in the evenings, and on weekends. We also have opportunities for teachers during the day through our accredited schooling program. We offer a mix of in-person sessions at Davidson Center and virtual sessions, allowing instructors to build a schedule that aligns with their availability and strengths. Many of our team members balance work at Davidson Center with classroom teaching or other professional roles, and several of our instructors are retired educators who bring a wealth of experience to our students.
