Dani Fatjó has been instructing students of all ages for over 20 years in numerous professional settings, from high school English to ESL, homeschool courses, and advanced chemistry. After earning his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Costa Rica, he spent over a decade as a partner at epl, where he helped manage Costa Rica’s first educational consulting firm and taught math and sciences to students with a variety of learning styles. Dani has an extensive background in standardized test prep, and the college application process.

Katie Isaacs, a self-proclaimed grammar and book nerd, holds both a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in English and Comparative Literature. She has over twenty years of professional English and EFL teaching, tutoring, and copy editing. Katie served as the head of the English department at the prestigious epl in Costa Rica for several years, where she developed English curricula for standardized tests, including the SSAT, SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, and TOEFL.

Diagnostic tests are used to identify the stronger-fit test for your student, as well as to set a baseline score. Already have a recent official SAT or ACT score? Email it to us and we’ll add it to your student’s file. No recent score? Your student can take a free at home, full-length SAT and ACT diagnostic test.  If your child would prefer to test at Davidson Center, there is a $50 fee.

A test-prep director reviews the results of the diagnostic tests, then meets with you for about 30 minutes, in person or by Zoom to discuss your student’s goals and recommend a plan.

You’ll get a recommended test, timeline, and session schedule built around your student’s goals and deadlines.

Tutors teach core concepts, question types, and test strategy, using official practice material. We build core math and English skills, fill in any gaps, and introduce test format and question types in a low-stress environment.

Students complete full-length practice tests which are used to measure whether skills are carrying over to independent, timed performance. Between sessions, as an addition to tutoring, students rehearse with MentoMind, our online practice platform. We are able to to target specific weaknesses and monitor progress which allows us to adjust the plan based on what the results show.
