How Families Pay for Services

Davidson Center accepts VISA / MasterCard / American Express, ACH, Check, and Cash as payment for services.
NC Opportunity Scholarship and NC ESA+
Davidson Center accepts NC Opportunity Scholarship and ESA+ only for students NOT enrolled full time in public school.
NC Opportunity Scholarship (for tuition/schooling only)
- State scholarship that helps families pay K–12 private school tuition and fees; funds are paid directly to approved schools, not parents. Parents need to have applied and been approved
NC ESA+ (Education Student Accounts)
- State-funded account for students with disabilities that can cover private school tuition and approved services like tutoring and educational therapies.
HSA (Health Savings Account) Reimbursement
- Parent pays Davidson Center directly; Davidson Center provides a detailed receipt showing dates, services, and amount paid.
- The family submits Davidson Center’s receipt(s) to their HSA administrator if their plan allows educational/tutoring expenses tied to a documented medical need (for example, when a provider has recommended tutoring as part of a treatment plan).
Davidson Center does not decide what an HSA will reimburse; just provides clear receipts. Families must confirm eligibility with their HSA/benefits provider.
529 / NC 529 Plan (Education Savings Account)
- 529 plans are tax-advantaged education savings accounts that now can be used for a wider range of K–12 expenses, including certain tutoring, in addition to college costs.
- Recent federal changes (effective 2025–2026) allow K–12 529 funds to cover tutoring and educational services when specific requirements are met (for example, tutor qualifications, non‑family provider, and academic focus).
Families should confirm with their 529 plan (including NC 529) and tax advisor whether their particular tutoring situation qualifies; we will issue receipts, but we cannot give tax or legal advice.
